Description
Hi guys!
EDIT: The speed drawing video's here- [link]
Eeep!!! I can't believe this one's done!
Here's a portrait of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama- a man of immense wisdom. It was such a pleasure to draw this; I can't even begin to quantify the amount of fun I had! Also, I discovered my love of drawing fabrics!
I wanted the background to match the colour of his attire in the coloured image, hence the yellow and red.
Anyway, on to the specifics:
Time taken: Around 10-12 hours!
Stuff I used: HB click pencil, 5H-2B graphite pencils, Derwent Coloursoft coloured pencils, dry white pastel, blending stumps, kneaded and hard erasers, tissue.
Size of the portrait: Around 26.4 X 25.5 cm.
A little note: The coloured pencils I used, the Derwent Coloursoft ones are absolutely lovely. They really are soft and so pigmented! Definitely 5 points higher than my Staedtler Luna ones. On a scale of 1 to 5.
So let me know what you think! I really appreciate faves and comments, and love reading and replying to each one.

Thanks for watching!

My being Buddhist has absolutely nothing to do with how beautifully rendered this is!! Namaste.
