Hi guys! 
Eep! I finished it!
Here's a sketch of Katy Perry that I'm SO happy with! Yes, the reference is pretty common. I'd seen it done by so many artists, I just had to draw it too!
So, specifics:
Time taken: 5-6 hours! That's probably the fastest I've done!
Stuff I used: HB, 2B and 4B pencils, blending stumps, kneaded and hard erasers, tissue and tons of Katy Perry music!
Size of the sketch: 35 X 28.1 cm

Yes, I recorded this. The time-lapse video will come as soon as I find the Firewire cable I need!
P.S.: Yay for (faux) fur coats!

Very impressive. I read your comment that you are trying to get Gimp while you have Photoshop. Photoshop offers really a lot of options to make your drawing look the same way you see it in real light. Or even better. Try HDR toning it's very useful
